MNC Recorded 19% Rise in Net Income 2009 - Jakarta, 29 Oct 2009
3rd Quarter 2009 Summary
RCTI has consistently maintained its number 1 position and retained 18-20% audience share during third quarter. Cost efficiency was achieved through focusing on creative and highly desirable in-house programs.
Due to lower advertising spending in middle low segment affected by global financial crisis, TPI’s revenue has decreased slightly.
By implementing cost efficiency in the printing and distribution and enhancing advertising revenue, daily newspaper, Seputar Indonesia has successfully booked positive EBITDA and positive net income.
Financial
MNC booked consolidated net income in the amount of Rp 352 billion per 9M-2009, which is a significant rise of 19% as compared to Rp 297 billion as per 9M-2008.
MNC recorded a rise in consolidated revenues from Rp 2,780 billion per 9M-2008 to Rp 2,831 billion per 9M-2009. Advertising revenue contributed 81% to consolidated revenue while the remaining 19% is contributed from non-advertising revenue.
The consolidated revenues contribution per 9M-2009 is derived from television, followed by short messaging services, print media, radio and online media. It is worth noted that revenue of online media and short messaging services have grown significantly during third quarter.
Going forward, MNC will continuously enhance its EBITDA and net income by maximizing sales and implementing cost efficiency.
