JAKARTA - Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of MNC Group Hary Tanoesoedibjo (HT) staged a gala dinner with the management of PT UBS Securities Indonesia in the Ballroom of the Grand Hyatt Hotel, Jakarta, Monday (03/07/2016). The event was attended by officials of MNC Group and UBS and themed "Solid Foundation for Future Growth".
In this activity, HT conducted a series of discussions with the Head of Research of UBS Joshua Tanja on Indonesia's economic outlook, investment opportunities in Indonesia, and the investors' trust of MNC Group.
PT UBS Securities Indonesia on the occasion expressed Indonesia's economic growth forecast in 2016 to grow in the range of 4.8% to 5% because the economic situation in 2016 is better than last year.
Head of Research Joshua Tanja said, the improvement of Indonesia's economic growth this year occurred because of the increment of government and infrastructure spending this year.
"The economic condition in 2016 is better than in 2015 mainly due to increased government & infrastructure spending around 4.8 to 5%, it was slightly better than last year's 4.8%," he said.
Not only that, Joshua saw the investment climate in the country has improved as various packages of deregulation to monetary stimulus, such as a decrease in the interest rate of Bank Indonesia (BI rate) and the minimum reserve requirement (GWM), as well as macro-prudential policy relaxation of BI.
According to him, various deregulation package issued by the government should be made to encourage better economic growth. Hopefully, the confidence of consumers and corporates to invest in the country also improved.
