Jakarta - MNC Peduli has made an Eid Al-Adha donation to Pondok Pesantren Luhur Al-Tsaqafah, an Islamic boarding school in Jagakarsa, South Jakarta. The donation was handed over by Teuku Hafid, Head of CSR at MNC Group, to KH Said Aqil Siradj at a temporary livestock shelter in Ciganjur on Thursday, June 5.
"I would like to thank Mr. Hary Tanoesoedibjo, who donates to Al-Tsaqafah every year," said Said Aqil. "May it bring blessings to him, his family, and the MNC Group."
According to Said Aqil, more than 20 qurban cattle will be processed at the pesantren this year. The donors include National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo and Jakarta Police Chief Inspector General Karyoto. The slaughtering will take place over three days.
“In total, there are 26 qurban cattle from the Police Chief, the Jakarta Police Chief, and several PKB members of parliament. We will begin the process slowly over the next few days,” he said.
He emphasized that the meat will be distributed not only to students but also to residents living near the pesantren.
“This is not just for our students. Eid al-Adha is a day when Muslims are reminded to share. In some communities, people only get to eat beef on this occasion. It’s an expression of social compassion, as taught in Islam,” he said.
Earlier this week, MNC Peduli, in collaboration with 66 corporate partners and business units under the MNC Group, collected a total of 78 qurban livestock for Eid Al-Adha. The initiative reflects the organization’s commitment to social solidarity through collective action.
The central handover event was held at iNews Tower in Central Jakarta and led by MNC Peduli Chairwoman Angela Tanoesoedibjo, accompanied by representatives from various partner organizations.
“We are grateful for the collaboration that allowed us to distribute 78 qurban livestock to those in need. We hope this brings benefit and blessings to all involved,” said Angela.
She noted that MNC Peduli, now in its 21st year, continues to serve as a platform for collective giving among businesses, organizations, and individuals supporting humanitarian and religious efforts.
