PADARINCANG, BANTEN - Smiles and gratitude filled the air in Kampung Ciseke, a village in Padarincang District, Serang Regency, as clean water finally flowed into the heart of the community. For years, residents relied on a polluted river for daily needs such as bathing, cooking, and drinking. Today, they celebrate a new chapter: access to clean water and proper sanitation.

The initiative was part of the Beauty With a Purpose (BWAP) program led by Miss Indonesia 2024, Monica Sembiring, in collaboration with MNC Peduli. More than 150 households are now benefiting from this community-driven project, which not only provides basic infrastructure but also restores dignity and hope.

Monica Sembiring, who visited the village in person, said the project stemmed from her concern over the residents' longstanding reliance on contaminated river water.

"This project took a lot of effort, it wasn’t easy. But I sincerely hope that with this access, the people here can live healthier lives," Monica said.

"This is a luxury they have never experienced before in their entire lives. I hope this development marks the beginning of improved living standards, health, education, and even the economy," she added.

The BWAP project includes a 3-kilometer pipeline system from Cirahab spring, four reservoirs, and three public sanitation units (MCK) built close to residential areas.

"The construction is complete, the MCKs, reservoirs, and water pipelines are all finished. I feel truly happy, because this joy isn’t just felt by a few people, it’s shared by hundreds," Monica said emotionally.

The symbolic inauguration was marked by a plaque signing ceremony by Liliana Tanoesoedibjo, Executive Chairwoman of MNC Group and Founder & Chairwoman of the Miss Indonesia Organization.

"I am extremely proud of Monique’s initiative. The water channels, reservoirs, and MCKs that were created are truly extraordinary. They enable people to live more decently," Liliana stated.

She emphasized that this project is more than just infrastructure, it’s about awareness and community empowerment. "This assistance is expected to raise awareness around cleanliness, improve quality of life, and support the health of residents in Kampung Ciseke," she said.

The local community responded with warmth and appreciation. Siti Maesaroh, a resident, expressed heartfelt gratitude: "I’m so grateful. This is very useful for our community. We’re proud that someone cared enough to make this happen," she said.

Agus Saepudin, Head of Padarincang District, also welcomed the initiative:"This clean water and sanitation program will greatly benefit the people of Kampung Ciseke. After today’s inauguration, we hope the community can freely and sustainably use these facilities," he said.
