JAKARTA - MNC Group donated 2.000 books in total and toys for students, as a part of MNC Group corporate social responsibility (CSR).
MNC Group Chairman Hary Tanoesoedibjo (HT) handed over the books symbolically at Child-Friendly Open Public Spaces (RPTRA) at Kebon Sirih, Menteng, Central Jakarta. These books will be distributed to other places.
"We distribute these books for kids that needed," he said when visiting the RPTRA, Monday (30/10/2017).
As known, UNESCO has reported that reading interest on Indonesian people only had 0,001% compared to another country which means, from 1.000 persons, only 1 person that gets a reading interest.
The low reading interest on Indonesian people affected by inadequate access to gain a book and also there is no practice to read since early stage.
The activity is one of the event's rundown on celebrating MNC Group 28th Anniversary.
"Every year we always do this social activity, especially on MNC Group 28th Anniversary. There are social services, physical exercise, health, including giving donation to kids around here," stated by him.
As the biggest group that cope more than 100 companies, he hopes that this activity could help and develop the society.
